TIRUCHI: Bharathidasan University would certify the customised courses offered under the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the colleges, said the Director, Institute of Entrepreneurship and Career Development, Bharathidasan University, K. Parthasarathy.
Colleges could apply for courses that were on demand with the students and the university would issue certificates for students on completion of the courses, he said, inaugurating a crash course on kundan stone work at Shrimati Indira Gandhi College on Friday.
The event also marked donation of sewing college machine by the alumni association of the college.
Speaking at the function, Dr. Parthasarathy said skill-oriented courses would boost up the confidence level of the students and cultivate flair for entrepreneurship in them.
Dr. Parthasarathy urged the students to take up skill-oriented courses that add value to their resume.
Computer, communication and soft skills were crucial for gaining a place in the job market.
In her presidential address, Principal of the college K. Meena said women entrepreneurs have edge over their male counterparts as they biologically imbibed the decision-making and managerial skills.
Project Director of TIDITSSIA STED C. Ramasamy Desai offered felicitations.
