HOSUR: N.R. Shetty, President, Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE), has said that the Society would give best national-level award to students from next year.
Speaking at the valedictory of ‘Technocracy 10' organised by the Adhiyamaan College of Engineering College, which bagged the best student chapter award continuously for the last six years, on Thursday he called up on the students to improve the communication skill and enhance the background of technical knowledge in addition to their basic academic qualification.
Besides, they should participate in various leadership programmes.
They should also take part in extra curricular activities through programmes such as NSS and NCC.
Mr. Shetty said the student's membership of the ISTE had gone up to 3.7 lakh from 50,000 in three years and hope it will improve in the coming years.
G. Ranganathan, Principal, Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, appealed the students to develop self-confidence to improve their scope of employability after graduating from the institution.
Students should repose faith on their faculty members, possess positive attitude, and trust which would take them to heights in their life.
He also asked the students to participate in co-curricular activities in addition to their academic activities, as it would fetch them the best student award instituted by the ISTE. J. Arivudainambi, Faculty Advisor,welcomed the gathering.
