An interrogation of Prasanna, a B.E. student, alleged to have been kidnapped by some unknown persons on Wednesday, revealed that he had misled his father and the police.

Disclosing this to reporters at Sriperumbudur on Thursday, the Deputy Inspector General of Police Kancheepuram Range, M. Ramasubramani said the B.E. student was weak in mathematics but he was forced to join the course by his parents though he preferred to pursue visual communication. The truth came to light after the police seized a bus ticket, issued to travel from Melmaruvathur to Villupuram, from him.

Responding to queries from press whether legal action would be initiated against Prasanna, Mr. Ramasubramani said, legal action would be initiated against him under appropriate sections of IPC since he gave false information and misdirected government servants.
