Plan to undertake a number of welfare activities
TIRUCHI: The State Bank of India demonstrated its concern and response to environmental degradation by organising tree planting campaigns in the Tiruchi zonal office and branches of the bank in Tiruchi Module spread over in the central districts.
The campaign, launched under the bank’s ‘community services banking activities’ formed a part of the Bank Day celebrations held on Tuesday.
Celebrated in over 150 branches
The Deputy General Manager of the bank, P. J. Thomas inaugurated the campaign by planting saplings at the Tiruchi zonal office in the presence of top officers and other staff. Officials planted saplings in the over 150 bank branches in the districts of Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Karur and Cuddalore.
The bank has also planned to undertake a number of welfare activities and programmes to show its concern to the societal needs. Providing needed assistance to the mercy homes, old age homes etc. were among the projects planned by the bank, a press release issued here said.
