Banking operations paralysed in Dindigul, Theni districts
A total of 1,500 employees working in 250 branches of 36 nationalised banks struck work in the district on Wednesday, pressing for their various demands.
Bank executives came for duty, but banking operation was completely paralysed. Automated Teller Machines were functioning as usual. But cash was not filled in the machines.
About 600 employees working in 84 branches of nationalised banks in the district did not attend work in response to the nationwide strike call given by various nationalised banks’ employees associations. All bank transactions were affected.
