Three branches and nine ATMs of Canara bank got functional in Tiruchi Circle on Friday.

The branches at Thirukadaiyur, Thuvakudi and Tiruchi IT Park (Navalpattu) were among the 100 branches, 100 ATMs, and nine Financial Literary cum Credit Counselling Centres inaugurated by the Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi at a function held in commemoration of 105 years of the bank's service and the birthday of the Founder Shri Ammembai Subba Rao Pai. One lakh general credit cards and 50,000 smart cards were issued throughout the country. The new ATMs in Tiruchi Circle were opened at J.J. College in Inamkulathur, Tiruchi IT Park, Vadamadurai, Perambalur, Srinivasapuram in Thanjavur, Mohanur, Chinnalapatti, Gandhigram and Tiruchi Railway junction.

A release said the Tiruchi Circle has a total network of 142 branches and 68 ATMs. The Director In-Charge of National Institute of Technology – Tiruchi, took part in the function organised by the Thuvakudi branch, the release said.
