Indian Bank has appointed business correspondents who would take the banking operations to the doorsteps of villagers with the help of mini, handheld ATMs in two villages in Tiruvannamalai district on Tuesday.

The scheme being implemented by the bank in several villages as part of financial inclusion programme was launched in Kiliyapattu and Narthampoondi villages by Rajiv Rishi, executive director of the bank, on Tuesday.

Mr. Rajiv Rishi also distributed smart cards, mandatory to access the account with the help of handheld mini ATMs, to the customers.

Selvam Veeraragavan, general manager, and Selvasekaran, regional manager of the bank, were among the participants.
