TIRUCHI: Tiruchirapalli Urban Co-operative Bank has earned a net profit of Rs.29.57 lakh for 2008-2009, said special officer J.Palaneeswari at the general body meeting of the bank held here recently.

She said that the bank, having 56,563 members, was functioning well with a total deposit of about Rs.46 crore from its members and providing all types of loans to its members from its own funds. She pointed out that the bank had so far advanced loans to the tune of Rs.36.69 crore to its members.

Mrs Palaneeswari pointed out that computerisation of all its branches had been completed and would be interlinked soon. This will benefit the members for transaction in any branch without difficulty, she said.
