Krishnagiri: As part of the Child Friendly Village Planning (CFVP) programme Balasabha meetings (children clubs) will be conducted in all the 337 village panchayats in the district on August 14. Child Friendly Village Planning is a unique micro planning process supported by UNICEF for the betterment of women and children of Krishnagiri district.

The meetings would be a mixture of fun, entertainment, social awareness and an opportunity for children to express themselves, said Collector, Santhosh Babu here on Monday. During the meeting child representatives will identify issues hampering the development and welfare of children and submit them through the gram sabha meetings to be conducted on August 15. Gram sabhas will take up the issues for implementation.

Self-help groups attached to Integrated Village Development Project have planned to conduct cultural programmes, essay and painting competitions, sports events and awareness programmes in all village panchayats in the blocks of Krishnagiri, Kaveripattinam, Bargur, Thally and Veppanapalli.
