TIRUCHI: An awareness programme on “Climate Change” for the children of grave yard workers was organised by the Marutha Muthu Trust at the YWCA Matriculation School at No.1 Tollgate here recently.

The Director of Green Bio-diversity Sanctuary, Alexander underscored the need to protect the environment besides highlighting the ill effects of pollution caused by industries.

Making a power presentation, he said students can play a significant role in protecting our environment while exhorting them to plant saplings in their school surroundings. Muthukumar, Senior Lecturer, Adaikalamatha College, Thanjavur called upon the students to have a goal in their life and pursue higher education. The managing trustee of the Trust M. Rajendiran welcomed the gathering, a press release here said.
