A camp to enhance awareness about the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme will be jointly organised by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, the District Industries Centre and the Khadi and Village Industries Board at the Hill Area Development Programme training hall here on September 19 at 10 a.m.
Stating that the Nilgiris Collector Archana Patnaik will preside, an official press note issued here on Wednesday stated that the main objectives of the programme are to generate employment opportunities in rural as well as urban areas by promoting self employment ventures and projects and provide sustainable self-employment for traditional artisans and unemployed rural youth.
The maximum project cost was Rs. 25 lakh for the manufacturing sector and Rs. 10 lakh for the service sector.
The beneficiaries’ contribution will be only 10 per cent for general category and 5 per cent for others.
