COIMBATORE: The State Government will provide assistance to 10 candidates, who studied in the Government schools in the district and have scored high marks in Class X, to continue studies in private schools in the State.

According to a release, the students would be selected from the backward (three boys and three girls), most backward / minority (two boys and two girls) classes. The annual income of the parents of these students should be less than Rs. 1 lakh. The select students would get an assistance of maximum Rs. 28,000 a year.

For details, contact the Coimbatore Collectorate. The Global Garden of Peace and Friendship of Forum of Humanism will give away cash prizes to candidates who have scored high marks in the Class X and Plus Two examinations this year.

A release from the organisation said the top scorers in Vadavalli panchayat in the SSLC, Plus Two and Matriculation examinations this year would be given Rs. 5,000 each. Three students who had scored first rank in these examinations in the Coimbatore Education District would also be given Rs. 5,000 each.
