MADURAI: The Sankara-Boopathi Award, instituted in memory of Ramanathapuram brothers, C. S. Sankarasivam and C. S. Murugaboopathi, was conferred on veteran mrudangam vidwan Tiruvarur Krishnamoorthy at the annual music festival held here recently.

The music festival was organised by the Sankara-Boopathi Trust in memory of the mrudangam vidwans, Sankarasivam and Murugaboopathi. Veteran flute artiste N. Ramani conferred the award in the presence of mrudangam vidwan Tiruvarur Bakthavatsalam. S. Seetharaman and G. Baskararajan, ophthalmologist, addressed the gathering.
