Unidentified persons entered the automated teller machine booth of a private bank in ASTC HUDCO Colony in Hosur on Wednesday night, snapped the wires of the surveillance camera and tried to break open the machine but in vain. They left empty-handed. The incident came to light when the watchman Venkatesappa reported for duty on Thursday morning at 7 a.m. After counting the currency, bank staff found that the cash in the machine was intact. The recordings of the surveillance camera saved in the bank server would help identify the culprits, bank sources said. On the basis of the complaint, Hosur town police have registered a case and further investigations are on in the case.
