Ashok Singhal inaugurates a high-tech web studio for the VHTV
Singhal disputes Liberhan Commission charges
Hindus are not asserting their rights: Swamy
CHENNAI: Jayendra Saraswathi of Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt on Saturday launched the 3G mobile version of the Vishwa Hindu TV (VHTV) on behalf of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi said the launching of the internet TV had become necessary to propagate the ideals of “Hindu Dharma.” Though the number of people visiting temples had increased substantially, they were slowly losing their cultural moorings. For the benefit and prosperity, the country’s culture should be preserved. The VHTV had been concentrating on this aspect, he added.
VHP international president Ashok Singhal inaugurating a high-tech web studio for the VHTV, said a misinformation campaign had been going on in the country against the VHP Hindu Parishad and the RSS. Services rendered by the organisations were not brought out. To dispel the campaign, the VHTV was launched some time ago. Dr.Subramanian Swamy, Janata Party president, said the Hindus should change their mindset. They were not asserting their rights. He hoped that the new internet TV would bring about the change.
Addressing newspersons after the function, Mr.Singhal disputed the charge of the Liberhan Commission that the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992 was a ‘planned conspiracy’ by kar sevaks. They had no intention to demolish the structure. It was a spontaneous act. As it was an old structure, the entire thing was brought down within five hours.
Mr.Singhal also called for legislation in Parliament for building temples in Ram Janma Bhoomi, Krishna Janma Bhoomi and Kashi Vishwanath. The moment the legislation was adopted, the VHP would start temple construction work in these places, he said.
