ARIYALUR: Ariyalur district has registered 82.74 per cent pass in the SSLC public examinations this year. Out of the total 10,804 candidates appeared for the examination, 8,939 candidates came out successful.

M.Karthiyayani, Chief Educational Officer, Ariyalur, told The Hindu on Wednesday that the girls outperformed boys in the pass percentage at 84.11 per cent against 81.24 per cent pass achieved by the boys.

M.Valarmathi of Nirmala Girls Higher Secondary School, Ariyalur, secured the first rank in Ariyalur district by scoring 490 marks out of 500 in the SSLC (Tenth Standard) public examinations. A.P.Jayatharshini of Fathima Girls Higher Secondary School, Jayamkondam, secured the second place by scoring 489 marks out of 500 and E.Bhuvaneswari of Nirmala Girls HSS, Ariyalur, got the third rank by scoring 488 marks out of 500.

The CEO said that out of the 365 candidates who appeared for the Matriculation (Tenth Standard) examination, 362 candidates came out successful achieving a pass percentage of 99.18 in the district.

M. Nalin Narayan of Vidya Mandir Matriculation School, Alathiyur, secured the first rank by scoring 484 marks out of 500.

C.Indumathi of Arasu Nagar Matriculation HSS, Ariyalur and K.Shivaranjini of Vidya Mandir Matriculation School, Alathiyur, secured the second rank of scoring 482 marks of 500 and K.Vijayalakshmi of Montfort Matriculation HSS, Ariyalur, secured the third rank by scoring 477 marks out of 500.
