ERODE: Anna University-Chennai Vice-Chancellor P. Mannar Jawahar asked students and faculty to work together to ensure effectiveness in the teaching and learning process in engineering colleges.
Participating at the College Day celebrations of Erode Sengunthar Engineering College here recently, he said that education institutions in State were offering tremendous opportunities for students to improve their knowledge and skills.
Students should exploit the opportunities to emerge successful in their career.
They should actively participate in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, he said.
The Vice-Chancellor also wanted the students to keep abreast of the advancements in their chosen field of study. “Learning is a continuous process. It should not stop after the completion of the course,” he said.
Mr. Mannar Jawahar asked students to go for post graduation and take up research and development activities, which were more important to ensure sustainable development in the country.
Later, he presented gold medals to the university rank holders and cash rewards to the toppers of various departments.
The best performing faculty were presented with cash rewards.
