CHENNAI: A gang allegedly assaulted the supervisor and two salespersons of an Indian Made Foreign Liquor outlet of the TASMAC on Sunday.

According to police, the supervisor, Dakshinamoorthy, had closed the shop in Mambalam and was verifying the stock particulars when the accused came there demanding liquor. Even as he tried to explain that sale was closed for the day, they insisted on purchasing some liquor bottles which led to an argument.

In the melee that followed, the gang attacked Dakshinamoorthy. The two salesmen who tried to intervene were also roughed up. The victims lodged a complaint with the Mambalam police. Four persons involved in the assaulted were arrested.
