Tirupur: Traffic was thinner in the city during peak hours on Friday vis-À-vis the volume witnessed usually on working days, as the impact of fuel shortage had started becoming apparent.

Almost every petrol pump in an around Tirupur, except the ones operated by dealers of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, had put up ‘no stock’ boards at its entrances from Thursday evening itself.

Scenes of cloth bundles being carried from one link of the textile manufacturing chain to the other (ie like from dyeing units to garmenting units) in carrier autorickshaws and two wheelers, which otherwise was common, turned out to be ‘rare visuals’ on Friday.
