VELLORE: Twenty-five-year-old G. Navakumar, working as an art teacher in Seventh Day Adventist Matriculation School, Vellore, has many achievements to his credit.

The previous one was the entry in the Limca Book of Records, of his achievement of drawing a picture of poet Thiruvalluvar on a 133-foot-long canvas cloth, depicting the 133 chapters of ‘Thirukkural.’His other accomplishments include the drawing of 1001 pictures on a postcard and drawing the pictures of 15 leaders, each on a 1.5-square cm paper.

Navakumar’s most recent accomplishment is that of writing the names of 102 countries on a thread.

He has written a slogan hailing the winning of Oscar by an Indian (Happy India Wins the Oscar) on a slender piece of thread used for stitching. “It took me six hours to complete the feat, using a painting brush and Indian ink. I am planning to write Thirukkural in English on a 60-foot-long thread,” said Navakumar, who has a never-ending penchant for such feats.
