CHENNAI: The government will not seek any more exemption for restructuring the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board beyond June 15, Electricity Minister Arcot N. Veeraswami told the Assembly on Wednesday.

When G. K. Mani (PMK) wanted to know the government’s reaction to the reported observation of Jairam Ramesh, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Power, that the TNEB was an illegal body, Mr. Veeraswami replied that he had clarified the position at Udangudi [where a function was held on Sunday to mark the inauguration of the 1,600-megawatt (MW) Udangudi power project].
