THANJAVUR: People of ward No. 37 of the Thanjavur Municipality have appealed to the Chairperson Thenmozhi Jayabal of Thanjavur Municipality and District Collector M. S. Shanmugham to give priority to road works in the ward and repair them under the German aided road scheme.

At a meeting held here on Wednesday, they adopted resolution to this effect.

They also said that adequate bus shelters should be constructed on Thanjavur Medical College Road to provide shade during this summer.

They also demanded stopping of town buses right in front of the bus stops without moving away from them, night patrolling by the police to prevent house burglaries, chain snatching and breaking street lights by anti-social elements, removal of garbage daily by sanitary workers, a bus service every 15 minutes from the old bus stand to Medical College via railway station.
