NAMAKKAL: The Tamil Nadu Scheduled Tribe (Malayali) Peravai has appealed to the State government to appoint adequate number of teachers to the Valvil Ori government residential higher secondary school run for the welfare of tribal students in Kolli Hills.

The association claimed that the school lacked adequate number of teachers for subjects such as Tamil, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science.

A majority of the students studying in the school come from tribal hamlets.

Students studying higher secondary were the worst affected as they were going to appear for the public examinations shortly. The situation, if continued, would affect their future.
