Tamil Nadu Government Employees Union observed a fast near Collectorate on Wednesday to press a charter of demands.

Led by leaders of

the union from Salem, Namakkal, Krishnagiri

and Dharmapuri more

than 500 members,

including women, raised slogans demanding that vacancies in

government departments be filled, disparities in wages be removed,

and allowances are

given on a par with

Union Government employees.

They said that all the benefits should be

given to anganwadi workers and librarians in villages. P. Periyasamy,
