The Neyveli Lignite Corporation will organise the 15th annual book fair at Neyveli from June 29 to July 8. The fair will be open on all days from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The organisers told The Hindu that as many 150 publishers with over 10,000 titles would participate in the fair. The NLC, a Navratna company, as part of its corporate social responsibility, had deemed it fit to organise the fair since 1998.
It is now branded as the South India’s second largest book fair, next only to Chennai. Timings of the fair have been extended to facilitate book lovers from far-off places to visit the venue.
The highlight of the event is that one author and one publisher would be felicitated and one book released every day. The venue boasts of fully-covered paved pathway and shelter to visitors from rain and sun.
Spot competitions would also be held for children visiting the fair. Free health check up, a regular feature, would be carried out by a medical team from NLC General Hospital.
