“The film has all ingredients to please fans”
MAYILADUTHURAI: ‘Pookadai Ravi,’ under production in the commercial pattern, is expected to pitchfork actor Narain in the league of mass heroes.
Narain has already performed roles of strong characters in his earlier flicks ‘Chithiram Pesudhadi,’ ‘Pallikoodam,’ and ‘Anjathe.’
The current project, according to members of the film crew, is bound to elevate Narain’s image.
Though the story centres around Madurai, substantial chunks are being shot in Kumbakonam and Mayiladuthurai. Art director Shanmugam has created the aura of Madurai’s Mela Masi Veedhi in the vicinity of the Lord Shiva Temple in Mayiladuthurai.
Scenes involving Narain, who plays a flower vendor in the movie, and comedian Ganja Karuppu, were shot in the set last week. The hero has done a lot of home work, from tying flowers with precision to picking up the Madurai slang.
Debutant Sivakumar, an erstwhile assistant of Selvaraghavan, wields the megaphone, while Srinivasa Reddy cranks the camera. Newcomer Samantha plays the female lead. Premji Amaren has scored the music and Narain is quite happy with the way the introduction song has shaped up.
“A commercial entertainer, the film has all the ingredients to please the fans,” said Narain exuding confidence that the impressive script will also earn fame for the director.
