Coimbatore: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel handed over 59 bags of rice meant for distribution under the Public Distribution System (PDS) to the officials of the district administration.

The RPF personnel seized the rice bags weighing 1,150 kg, which were about to be smuggled to Kerala in the trains bound for various destinations in that State.

The raids and seizures were done by a team of RPF personnel as well as the Assistant Rationing Officer and his team at the Coimbatore Railway Junction.
