The alumni of 1962 batch of Coimbatore Institute of Technology celebrated the golden jubilee reunion here on Saturday and Sunday.

According to a release from vice-president of the reunion G. Jagannathan, 80 alumni from India and abroad, along with their families, attended the event. They considered it a remarkable achievement, because out of the 86 members who were alive, 80 could make it to the reunion.

Former principals, professors, and batch mates, in addition to the serving faculty, addressed the alumni members in a function got up to celebrate the occasion. S.R.K. Prasad, correspondent of the Institute, presided over the function. The alumni spent the entire day on the campus before moving on to a musical concert presented by J.S. Bhuvaneswaran, Medical Director, PSG Hospitals, at Coimbatore Club. May 6 saw the group visiting places such as Marudhamalai, Isha Yoga Centre, and Perur temple.
