A Caucasian woman estimated to be around 30 years was admitted in an unconscious state on Monday to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.
The tall, slender blonde is being administered IV fluids. According to the duty nurse in ward 122 (female medical ward), the woman remained unconscious ever since she was brought there.
She was referred by the Tambaram Taluka Hospital to the GGH as “unknown.” According to the duty doctor at the casualty ward, the hospital registered it as a case of “drowning” and she was admitted to the hospital at 10.30 a.m.
The woman was first spotted in a lake formed in an abandoned quarry in Kamarajapuram near Tambaram early on Monday. Residents alerted the Shankar Nagar police. As news spread, workers from the nearby quarries and stone crushing units gathered at the spot.
According to police, they asked her to come out of the lake. She was then taken to Shankar Nagar police station. However, police were unable to record a proper statement from the woman, as she was unable to furnish any detail in a coherent manner.
The woman was then sent in a government ambulance to the GGH. At the hospital, she was shifted from the casualty ward to the medical emergency ward and later to the female medical ward.
