SALEM: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) unit at Salem Steel Plant celebrated its 40th Raising Day on Tuesday.
Plant Executive Director B.B. Singh, participating in the celebrations, inspected a parade by the CISF contingent in the plant.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Singh recalled the history of CISF, services provided by CISF personnel in the areas of industrial security and protection for vital installations such as atomic power, defence production, oil refineries, steel plants, airports, important government buildings and parts of national highways.
Mr. Singh also pointed out the role of CISF in disaster management and relief and rescue works carried out during earthquakes, floods and tsunami.
He expressed satisfaction over the services provided by the CISF unit at the plant.
Deputy Commandant of CISF unit B.D. Sharma and senior officials were present during the function.
