ISO-2000 certification for Tiruchi hospital Tiruchi hospital gets ISO-2000 certification for gynaecology, general medicine services

TIRUCHI: Rana Maternity Hospital, started in 1978 to extend health care to women, has now become one of the hospitals to be ISO-2000 certified.

The Station Manager of International Certification Services, Chennai, G. Venkataraman, handed over the certificate `for its services in the disciplines of gynaecology and general medicine,' to the hospital founder Rameswari Nalluswamy, at a function held here on Friday.

The hospital, which applied for the certification six months back, was assessed for its infrastructure, customer satisfaction, health care, outsourced and supporting services, such as the ambulance, which was found satisfactory, Mr. Venkatraman said. Functioning round-the-clock, it has exclusive clinics to deal with problems concerning adolescence, infertility and menopause.

It also offers pre-conceptional counselling and has a `well-women clinic' to give counselling on health care. Besides, it also had the latest equipment for colposcopy and laparoscopy and a Government approved scan centre, Dr. Rameswari said.

The hospital has got the permanent recognition as a family planning clinic by the State Government.

The hospital chairman, N. Nallusamy, said the hospital was equipped to deal with the problems of women belonging to all age groups.
