TIRUCHI: Labour Welfare Minister P. Annavi commissioned X-ray and scan units, acquired at a cost of Rs. 18 lakh, at the upgraded Primary Health Centre at Thattiengarpet recently.

He said the government had provided additional facilities such as additional beds, ambulance and operation theatre at a cost of Rs. 75 lakh.

A total of 15 health sub-centres have been constructed in Thottiyam at a cost of Rs. 6 lakh each.

Under the Uzhavar Padukappu Thittam, assistance to the tune of Rs. 1.11 crore was disbursed to over 5,000 pregnant women in the district.

Later, he distributed assistance to the tune of over Rs. 5 lakh to 159 beneficiaries.

Chairman of the District Panchayat, N. Nedumaran, and Deputy Director, Health Services, K. Mathivanan, spoke.
