CHENNAI: The Anna Nagar police suspect that a group from north India could be involved in the shooting of a businessman Nagarajan (48), near a Marriage hall in Anna Nagar here on Monday night.
Police said the group was upset at the businessman's relationship with a woman from their place.
This could have led to the problem and the girl's relatives could have been behind the attack, they said.
A team from the Anna Nagar police district had left for Uttar Pradesh, they added.
The Fire and Rescue Services authorities on Tuesday said the building at Mogappair west collapsed possibility due to a weak structure.
Pointing to the fact that the LPG cylinder kept in the house was intact, and there was no leakage of gas or fire inside the house clearly indicated that the building collapsed because of the weak structure.
Bad mixture of cement?
Another possibility could be that while constructing the houses, the mixture of cement and sand could not have been in the right proportion, which would lead to problems at a later period of time.
Moreover, with a weak structure, the residents would have added one more floor or a room to the existing structure, which could have possibly led to the collapse of the building, they added.
