CHENNAI: A special event with a resounding theme `Sound of Music' was organised at Vael's Billabong High International School, Neelankarai, last week.

At the event, pre-school students explored the `sounds of music' through junk instruments such as a bunch of old keys, coconut shells, wooden beads, seashells and chimes, while singing songs.

A special `Antakshari' was organised for the grandparents present, giving them an opportunity to sing songs of yesteryears in Hindi and Tamil.

The evening had its solemn moment when the grandparents received special souvenirs made by their grandchildren.

Over 200 grandparents attended the party, which highlighted the pivotal role the elders played in establishing and strengthening familial bonds and value systems in their grandchildren.
