NAMAKKAL: Councillors of the Namakkal Municipality have urged the municipal administration to start providing new water connections to the residents.

The municipality should also seek permission to provide more new water connections, councillors said at the council meeting here on Friday.

Answering the queries, Chairman of the council S. Gandhiselvan said the municipality had asked permission for providing a total of 4,000 new water connections in the town.

He said the municipality started to desilt the Kamalalayam tank two years ago.
