SALEM: A Computerised Registration Sorting Centre was opened at the Railway Mail Service (RMS) in Salem Railway Junction here on Monday.

Director of Postal Services, Western Region, V. Rajarajan, inaugurated the centre.

Speedy processing

Speaking in the function, he said similar centres had already been opened in Coimbatore, Tiruchy, Madurai and Chennai.

The centre would facilitate speedy processing of mails.

Salem, Namakkal people to benefit

People in the Salem and Namakkal districts would benefit from this computerised registration process, he added.

RMS officials and railway employees were present in the function.
