TAMBARAM: The Information Technology Association (ITA) of the Madras Institute of Technology, Chromepet, will be conducting `Samhita', their annual inter-college technical festival, on Thursday.

Organisers said the day-long event, would feature competitions and demonstrations.

Students from various technical institutions from all over the country have been taking part in the event every year since 2002, when the event was first conducted.

The ITA comprises students from the departments of computer science and information technology. A range of events, from technical paper presentation, debugging contest, general and technical quiz, treasure hunt, potpourri and gaming, will be held. Cash prizes of Rs.4,000, Rs.2,000 and Rs.1,000 would be given to the winners. Students said they had received more than 80 entries for the paper presentation contest, adding that participants could look forward to excellent hospitality from the hosts.
