BANGALORE: A 22-year-old mason, who did not oblige to his friend's demand for money, was murdered in Subedarapalya, in Yeshwantapur police station limits, late on Friday night. The police gave the name of the deceased as Ashwath.

According to police, Jagadish, Ashwath's friend, of Channarayapatna, demanded money to drink alcohol. When Ashwant did not give money, Jagadish allegedly took a wooden rod and hit Ashwath on his head and went away.

Neighbours of Ashwath, who saw him bleeding from his head, took him to the K.C. General Hospital. From there, he was taken to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, where he died, the police said.

The police were on the lookout for the accused.


Following a quarrel with her husband, a 20-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Amrutahalli in Yelahanka police station limits, on Friday night.

The police gave her name as Nigamma. Following a quarrel, Nigamma's husband Srinivas, a tea vendor, left the house in the morning. When he returned in the night, Srinivas found his wife handing with a sari from the ceiling fan, the police said.


The Special police team of East Division have arrested two persons allegedly involved in several incidents of robbery and theft.

The police have recovered one gold chain and seven mobile phones form them.
