All-India Muvendhar Munnetra Kazhagam leader joins AIADMK

DINDIGUL: All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, during her election campaign in Natham on Thursday, highlighted the State Government's achievements during the last five years.

She also spoke of efforts taken by the Government to implement various schemes and provide relief to people affected by the December 2004 tsunami and other natural calamities, the Central Government's step-motherly attitude and consistent support from the people at times of crises.

The AIADMK supremo expressed happiness at the impressive gathering at many points in Natham, the hometown of Transport Minister R. Viswanathan, Dindigul town and Sempatti, where the party fielded party treasurer and Athoor constituency candidate, C. Srinivasan.Even as partymen mobilised crowd from neighbouring villages to the venues, people were seen waiting on the Natham-Dindigul highway and the Batlagundu-Dindigul main road to see the Chief Minister. She did not miss out on local themes also.

When State treasurer of the All-India Muvendhar Munnetra Kazhagam Ramu Thevar, along with thousands of party cadre joined the AIADMK in the presence of Ms. Jayalalithaa, videographers, lensmen and reporters had left the spot. She immediately summoned photographers to cover it.

There was large turnout of women in rural areas. Arathis and Kuthuvilakku procession marked the meeting spots.

Despite quick mobility, her convoy reached Batlagundu at 10 p.m. and could not address the gathering.
