Training classes inaugurated at Katpadi

VELLORE: VIT University Chancellor G. Viswanathan has called upon people to learn yoga to maintain physical and mental health and be free from mental stress.

He was inaugurating yoga training classes at the newly-started Adhisesha Pathanjali Yoga Research Centre in Balaji Nagar Extension near Katpadi recently. Mr. Viswanathan said that the art of yoga, which emanated from India, has spread all over the world.

Unfortunately, many Indians had not yet learnt yoga, whereas more foreigners were evincing interest in learning the art.

VIT University students who came from north Indian States were requesting for facilities for learning yoga.

By practising yoga, one could lead a disease-free life, Mr. Viswanathan said.

Muthunagalingaswamy, founder of the centre, presided. S.N. Janardhanan, media coordinator of the centre, welcomed the gathering. R. Chandrasekaran, president, Udhavum Ullangal, J. Mani Ezhilan Ilango, Development Officer, LIC, and Gnana Natarajan, Junior Employment Officer, Vellore, spoke.
