MADURAI: The level in the Periyar dam stood at 119.50 feet (136 feet) with an inflow of 631 cusecs and a discharge of 1025 cusecs. The level in the Vaigai dam was 49.80 feet (71 feet) with an inflow of 1058 cusecs and a discharge of 41 cusecs.
Tekkadi recorded the highest rainfall followed by Gudalur 5, Periyar dam 4 and Shanmuganadi 2 mm.
VCDs, DVDs seized
At least 4,000 video compact discs (VCDs) and digital versatile discs (DVDs) containing pirated versions of the latest Tamil, Hindi and English movies were seized from a lodge here on Monday.
A team led by the Thilagar Thidal Assistant Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), N. Rajendran, raided the lodge on Netaji Road.
The VCDs and DVDs were found in the possession of S. Ravi (41) and R. Kumar (38) of Thathaneri. They confessed to have purchased the prints in Pondicherry. BSNL's new facility

Customers can make use of the toll-free service by dialling `19621' (English) and 19622 (Tamil) to know the billing of their landline phone at any given point of time, its General Manager, M.K. Sudarsanam said.
The exchanges where the service is available now are: Ellis Nagar (numbers starting with 260 and 261), East Masi Street (number starting with 262 and 263), Villapuram, Alagappan Nagar, Vellalur, Silaiman, Samayanallur, Thumbaipatti, Muthusamypatti, Tiruvadavur, A. Vellalapatti, Keelavalavu, Uranganpatti, Thuvariman, Kulamangalam and Kanjarampettai.
