Coimbatore: Kalaivizha, the annual cultural fest of Avinashilingam University was held on October 9 and 10.

Exhibitions, competitions and cultural programmes marked the celebrations. A `kolu,' an exhibition, `Fifty Years of Saradalaya,' and textiles exhibition were also organised. Elocution, essay writing, poetry writing, dance, music, and `wealth out of waste' tested the literary and creative faculties of the students.

A. Ramachandran, Joint Director of Collegiate Education, was the chief guest. In is address, he focused on the need for students to cultivate good communication skills, interpersonal skills and general knowledge and also skills in information technology.
