Has a whole bouquet of offers for its customers

PUDUCHERRY: If you have relatives and friends in the Gulf and Sri Lanka, the BSNL has a gift for you from October 1.

It has slashed ISD rates to the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Sri Lanka. The existing rate of Rs. 12 per minute to Sri Lanka will now be Rs. 7.20 and the existing rate of Rs. 12 for the Gulf countries mentioned will be Rs. 9.60.

As part of its seventh year celebrations, BSNL has a bouquet of offers for its customers. In a press release here it said for every new connection (landline) registered on October 1 there is a package including a free Caller-ID, Calling Card worth Rs 200 (Local/STD/ISD), a free starter pack of pre-paid cellular connection with talk time worth Rs 30, 200 SMS free and a bag. This offer is valid for only one day on October 1 from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Rangapillai Street in front of the Main Telephone Exchange Building.

Visitors to the BSNL office on Rangapillai Street will be given a set of questions and the one who writes the most suitable answers will get a prize worth Rs 500. Apart from this a special prize worth Rs. 1500 will be given to one of the applicants for new phone connection, who writes the most suitable answers for the questions meant for them.

BSNL also plans to introduce FLPP (fixed line pre-paid service) shortly.

To start with, the service will be introduced for PCOs.

It is also planned to introduce Wi-Fi and Wi-Max service (Wireless Internet services) at select places in Puducherry. On an experimental basis, WI-Fi service has been provided at the Chief secretariat and at a hotel, the release added.
