Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended on Tuesday in parts of J.J. Nagar, Anna Nagar (West) extension, Adayalampattu, Padi area, parts of Flower Bazar area including Nainiappa Naicken Street, Devaraja Mudaly Street and N.S.C. Bose Road for maintenance work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Supply will be resumed if maintenance work is completed earlier.

Computer Society

The Computer Society of India student chapter was inaugurated at DMI College of Engineering, Palanchoor. A technical newsletter FOCUS IT was also released on the occasion. Valsom Thambu, member, National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, said globalisation was another form of colonisation and man should never become a slave of technology.

Aptitude test

In commemoration with mathematics genius Ramanujam's birth anniversary, Sevalaya is organising a free math aptitude test for students of Classes X and XII. Questions will be designed according to the State Board syllabus and all questions will be objective type in English and Tamil. Medical camp

A medical camp for journalists was conducted at the Chennai Press

Club recently.

Doctors gave participants a complete health check up, covering eyes, nose, throat, allergies, asthma and dental health. Around 170 journalists and members of their families participated in the camp.

House burgled

Jewels weighing about five sovereigns were stolen from a locked house in Bhanu Avenue in Tambaram Sanatorium

on Saturday.

Sridhar, working in a private company, went to a relative's house on Saturday morning.

When he returned in the evening, he noticed the door and almirah broken open and jewels burgled.
