CHENNAI: The Tamil Isai Sangam has chosen the Bombay Sisters to receive its Isai Perarignar Award for 2006.

The sisters, C. Saroja and C. Lalitha were trained by stalwarts Musiri Subramanya Iyer and T.K. Govinda Rao.

Governor of Uttar Pradesh T.V. Rajeshwar will present the award at a ceremony to be held at Raja Annamalai Hall on December 21, the inaugural day of the 64th edition of the Tamil music festival of the Sangam. The award will consist of a gold medal, a silver citation and a cash prize.
