Krishnagiri: The District Adi-dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department has invited applications for the distribution of scholarships provided by Central Government for students belonging to SC and ST categories to undergo Commercial Pilot Licence course.

The Commercial Pilot Licence Course will cover Commercial Helicopter Pilot Licence (6 HPC) and multi-engine rating training on A 320 and similar aircrafts.

In a statement here on Friday, Collector Santhosh Babu said the students should apply with their education certificates, community certificate, income certificate and report from their training institute indicating their selection.

The selected candidates would be provided with maintenance allowance at the rates applicable to Group 1 courses i.e. Rs. 740 a month for hostellers and Rs. 330 a month for regular students. The Adi-dravidar Welfare Officer would recommend the eligible students for the scholarship.

The scholarship would cover various fees to be paid to the institute.

The District Adi-dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department would scrutinise the applications and forward the same to the Director of Adi-dravidar Welfare Department, Chennai. The applications would in turn be forwarded to the Government of India.
