Thirteen NCC Air Wing cadets of 3 TN Air Squadron (Tech) NCC, Tiruchi were given Sahara Scholarship for the year 2010 at a function held at the Bishop Heber College here on Saturday.
The scholarship is awarded annually to the cadets selected on merit by the Director General, NCC. Five among the 13 cadets who received the scholarships were engineering students, while four others were Arts College students. Four more who were awarded the scholarships were school students.
Group Captain N. Thinakaran, Commanding Officer, 3 TN Air Squadron (Tech) NCC gave away the scholarships, totally amounting Rs. 2.22 lakhs, to the cadets.
He congratulated them for having led the NCC team with professional competence, a press release here said.
