Forms task force to implement findings of report
Tuticorin: The Tuticorin chapter of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has firmed up its strategy with full of optimism to focus on effective implementation of ‘Thoothukudi Vision 2025,’ a report released recently, its chairman P.S.S.K. Raja Sankaralingam said here on Saturday.
Briefing mediapersons after assuming office, he said that CII had formed a task force headed by T. Johnson of St. John Freight Systems to lay emphasis on implementing the key findings of the report. Mini marathon and other contests would be organised for school children. It was high time the children were aware of how Tuticorin could become a major and attractive destination in South India by 2025.
R. Edwin Samuel, Vice Chairman, CII, said that training programmes and seminars would be organised for stakeholders. In the current fiscal, prime events such as ‘Explore Export 2009,’ conference on brand image and another on logistics would be held. He mooted the idea of promoting a trade mission to China, paying a visit to an international trade fair and all major ports in India with the blend of progressive and proactive business entrepreneurs. Mr. Samuel expressed optimism that Tuticorin was poised to register growth.
