YERCAUD: Tourists flocking to the crown of Shevaroy’s to escape the heat are disappointed as the Yercaud Lake, a major attraction of the place, presents a pathetic look.

Water hyacinth and other wild weeds cover a major portion of the lake, leaving the tourists frustrated.

The lake sported a better look when the district administration and tourism department had removed the silt and water hyacinth from the lake a year ago.

The State Government had spent a huge amount for removing the silt and weeds, besides improving the facilities in the boat house.

But then, the officials had failed to ensure proper maintenance in the lake.
