TIRUCHI: The Department of Management Studies of the Anna University-Tiruchi will host a three-day international conference on Operations Research Applications in Engineering and Management from May 27.

Applications of operations research in decision making will be the theme of the conference. The conference will seek to provide a forum for researchers from both developing and developed nations to discuss issues relating to operations research applications in all areas of engineering and management.

It will also serve as a platform for engineers, technologists, scientists and policy makers to learn and share operations research applications and implementation practices. Practitioners and academicians could update their techniques and concepts for optimisation of statistical software tools, according to a press release from M. About 400 contributed papers, including 20 from abroad, have been accepted and scheduled for presentation during the conference.

Eminent researchers and practitioners will also deliver invited lectures on a range of topics, including operations research and information technology, Indian case studies, applications in management, computer science, engineering and semi-conductor manufacturing.

Best papers would also be selected among students and faculty/industry executive categories for various awards, the release added.
